THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FLAGSTAFF HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR NORTHERN ARIZONA…INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS… NORTHERN GILA COUNTY…. COCONINO PLATEAU… EASTERN MOGOLLON RIM…GRAND CANYON COUNTRY…KAIBAB PLATEAU… LITTLE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY IN COCONINO COUNTY AND MARBLE AND GLEN CANYONS…BLACK MESA AREA… CHINLE VALLEY…CHUSKA MOUNTAINS AND DEFIANCE PLATEAU…  LITTLE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY IN APACHE COUNTY… LITTLE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY IN NAVAJO COUNTY… NORTHEAST PLATEAUS AND MESAS HWY 264 NORTHWARD… NORTHEAST PLATEAUS AND MESAS SOUTH OF HWY 264 AND WHITE MOUNTAINS… WESTERN MOGOLLON RIM.

* FROM 11 AM MST THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING

* A MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL RESIDE OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA THROUGH SUNSET MONDAY. THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR ARE EXPECTED. STORMS SHOULD BE MOVING FROM SOUTH TO NORTH.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT DEVELOPING CONDITIONS MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING IN THE WATCH AREA. PEOPLE…ESPECIALLY THOSE LOCATED ALONG AREA CREEKS…RIVERS OR OTHER FLASH FLOOD PRONE AREAS… SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
